Can I file a chapter 13 bankruptcy if I have no job?
I have been unemployed for about 4 months. I rely heavily on unemployment now but I have fallen behind on all of my monthly payments. I am falling deeper and deeper in debt. Can I go through a Chapter 13 bankruptcy reorganization if I am unemployed?LawQA.com Answer Library

Yes you can! As long as you have some sort of disposable monthly income (in this case unemployment), you can always propose to pay more or step up your payment at a later date should you acquire further income. We can assist you further, please call for more information.

You will not be able to do a Chapter 13 with no income unless you have outside sources of income. To discuss whether a Chapter 7 is a good option for you, please contact us.
