Question

Will my husbands home be in jeopardy if I file for bankruptcy?

I think that I need to file for bankruptcy because of about $32,000 dollars of credit card debt that I cannot pay off. Will a home that is in the name of my husband be sold to creditors if I file for bankruptcy?

That depends on a number of factors. Was the credit card debt incurred during the marriage? Was the home purchased during the marriage? Is there equity in the house? If so, how much? You need to have a comprehensive consult with a bankruptcy attorney who can go through all the relevant facts with you to answer your question(s).
